M2OH Role: |
M2OH played a very interesting role in a TV musical for CBC Opening Night called Youkali Hotel which starred Patricia O’Callaghan (on Marquis) and featured MMOH, Hawksley Workman, Albert Schultz, Kurt Swinghammer. It was a produced by a Toronto company, Enigmato Films. The film grew decidedly darker when Mary Margaret O’Hara presented us with her recording of “Something I Dreamed Last Night”. Although there was no suggestion of violence in the original Sammy Fain/Herb Magidson/Jack Yellen song, Mary Margaret’s brilliantly macabre rendition leaves no question that the singer had murdered her absent lover. Suddenly, we had a dramatic crime of passion for the back-story – played out in superb performances by Mary Margaret and Hawksley Workman. |
